Employee Assistance Programs
EAP is a mental health service for employees, usually offered in partnership with companies and employers. This program aims to assist employees with personal concerns, work-related problems, or psychological issues arising from crisis or trauma. The purpose of EAP is to help employees improve their mental health and wellbeing, increase productivity in the workplace, and create a mental health friendly workplace.
EAP has two main approaches: Prevention and Intervention. Prevention Programs include seminars and workshops focused on mental health and well being, stress management, and workplace mental health. This also includes development of workplace mental health policies and programs. Intervention Programs include psychotherapy, psychological counseling, and telepsychology (online) consultations. This may also include mental health and psychosocial support services for employees affected by crisis.
